Wednesday, October 6, Scriba Family Center 11:45 am arrival; lunch and program at noon
Program: “The USS MIDWAY Museum Story.” Hear the history of the aircraft carrier USS MIDWAY (CV-41), its construction, and active-duty service. Following the ship’s decommissioning, a dedicated team planned and converted the carrier into what is now one of the most-visited military museums in the country, berthed in San Diego Harbor. This is the story of creating that museum.
Our speaker, Mr. Bob Hartman, has been a member of the museum’s team for almost 20 years. A former Navy man, Bob is a MIDWAY museum docent who has logged more than 8,500 volunteer hours!
Admission of $20 includes a box lunch.
Due to COVID-19 protocols, attendance will be strictly limited. Reservations required. No walk-ins. RSVP to email@example.com.
Everyone, not just vets, is welcome to attend
